Today’s Myth: “Quitters Never Win and Winners Never Quit”

Balderdash.  We grew up with that saying – in fact, I had it inscribed in our football locker room in high school.  But the truth is – we need to know when it’s time to walk away.  There are plenty of projects, clients, and ideas that don’t work, and there’s no honor in fighting a losing battle.  Better to retreat, regroup, and refocus.  What are the projects, people, or things in your life that you need to quit?  What are the necessary endings that need to happen for you to get to the next level in your life and career?

Don’t break a promise, or leave someone hanging.  But if you can do it with integrity, then stop sticking with something because of guilt.  Real winners know when to change horses.  They know when it’s time to move on.

Have you struggled with this myth?  Better – have you learned the importance of moving on when the time is right?  Let me know….
