Regrets: The Time to Avoid Them is Now

It’s popular these days for people to declare they have no regrets, but that’s just posturing. Everyone has regrets of some kind – perhaps about past decisions (or indecisions), behavior, jobs, relationships, and more.

Bestselling author Daniel Pink recently released a short video about finding your purpose. A significant part of that journey involves overcoming past regrets. He’s even written a book, “The Power of Regret: How Looking Backward Moves Us Forward.”

The major takeaway for me was that the single biggest regret people have is:

What they didn’t do.

And the most numerous specific regrets?

Not being bolder.
Not starting a business.
Not traveling.
Not speaking up when it mattered.
Not taking your shot.

The time to start fixing that is now. Here’s Daniel’s video. I’d encourage you to watch it, and then take a little time to reflect on what you regret now and what you might regret when you reach the end of your life.
