Branding Yellow Alert!

According to World Magazine, if you wear a Lance Armstrong “LiveStrong” armband, please leave it at home before you check into a hospital. The Journal for Hospital Medicine reports that hospitals use yellow bands to indicate patients with “Do Not Resuscitate (DNR) orders. A study revealed that medical personnel were getting the armbands mixed up, with near fatal results. It’s one of those: “Who would have ever thought of that?” when they came up with the Lance Armstrong Foundation marketing concept. But talk about potentially bad PR…..

  1. This is actually not true. There was only a handful of hospitals in Florida that used yellow bracelets. They don't anymore. Also, there are no reports of mistaken identity as far as DNR and wristbands. It was an old rumor.
