I heard an employee described recently as a person who “simply passes everything on.” They meant he was someone who never takes responsibility, never deals with the issue, and never fixes the problem. They simply pass it on to someone else. How many people do you know who do exactly that?
Deal with it. Whatever problem or challenge comes your way, be cool under fire, sort it out, and solve the problem. Don’t pass it on until it’s taken care of.
One of the quickest ways to get noticed in an office, or on a team is to be the person that fixes the problem and closes the case. The person everyone can depend on to solve the problem, and not simply pass it upstairs or to other co-workers.
