I'm all for brains. We need smarter people in all walks of life. I worked hard to get a Ph.D. because I believe in the power of intelligence. But I wonder that we sometimes get so distracted by trying to be the "smartest guy in the room" that we forget real leadership isn't all about brains. Interesting dinner the other night after the Engage Conference with pastors Greg Laurie, Jack Graham, Jack's son Josh, and the Executive Director of Jack's Power Point Ministries, Scott Seal. Since a reader brought this up, I should respond to the situation at Prestonwood Baptist Church in Dallas. Pastor Jack Graham is a client of ours, and we consult regarding the Power Point radio and television outreach hosted by Pastor Graham. I consider Jack and his wife Deb close friends and I admire his ministry a great deal. The most fascinating aspect of the story of the staff minister arrested in a sex sting is the professional and immediate way Pastor Graham and the Prestonwood staff handled the situation.
