Bad Things

I work in the entertainment and media business, and in my world bad stuff happens – on a pretty regular basis. Right now writers are losing their homes because of the strike. Even other jobs are being hit. I have a friend who caters on major shows, and he’s really hurting because of the strike. I took two calls today from friends who needed work, and another two who were losing their jobs. It’s an up and down thing, and even in what we call “religious media” it isn’t much better. I have two friends who might be let go in a week or so, and we’re scheduled to talk about their future tomorrow. So I’m thinking a lot about why bad stuff happens. ... read more
