At This Point, I Would Vote For

I wish you had added "Other" because I don't intend to vote for either candidate.

John McCain had a great interview at Rick Warren's church. I would consider rethinking him. You have 2 choices for President... and I don't think now is the time to not vote or to vote for a 3rd party that will just swing the vote to Obama. Evangelicals need to think long term. McCain is Pro-Life, strong on National Security, 2nd Amendment, etc. Sure there are definitely some areas that even myself are not a bit fan of, HOWEVER, let's not throw the baby out with the bath water. As American's we have a responsibility to vote and vote wisely.

If you are for Obama... this point is irrelevant =)

Neither.

Bob Barr

O how I wish this were representative of America-at-large!

You know in my lifetime we have went from having the best and brightest of those willing to serve our nation to two candidates with no real direction hinging their electability on the last, greatest sound byte before the big day. This nation was built on better character and resolve than what we have representing us today. Where are the true leaders?

I won't say WHO to vote for, that's your call.

But follow your heart, not the media or secular peers.

by Dan N (not verified) on August 8, 2008 - 11:03am

I felt "neither" initially, but then I realized if I vote neither, the other side may win.

SO VOTE!

And search your heart.

I would rather vote for One of the above and have a say in the process than vote for None of the above and forfeit my right to have a (Credible) say about the process. When you vote you take a stand on something and if you choose not to vote you risk being confused for the ignorant or the apathetic in our society.

Tony -

So... if you find yourself in a position where you have to make a decision and both options are wrong, you would choose the lesser of the 2 wrongs?

McCain has serious flaws and he will lead America towards a global world view as well. He also favors shutting up the conservative Christian vote. Voting for him could eliminate our ability to vote later.

Actually, both of these men will make sure that the conservative and Christian or faith believing segments of America are quieted and/or eliminated from the majority regardless to the fact that their voices are the majority.

While I agree we need to vote, it is time for Americans to take a stand and vote for who is best able to serve the majority of "we the people" and who is willing to do our bidding. We need someone who is willing to take a stand and do what is right not what is politically expedient.

"Other"

I usually vote "3rd party". In my opinion, the stranglehold Democrats and Republicans have over public discourse should be broken. It's time to hear from the other candidates more often. It's also time to hear more about issues, and less about partisan pettifoggery and personal glamor.

Even though Ron Paul's out of the race, I'd write him in if they held elections tomorrow.

It really does feel like a choice between the lesser of two evils. At this point, my vote is being cast toward the one who will support life, will not favor mainstreaming homosexuality, and will focus on a strong America. So, for me, that means McCain. Yet, I am not deeply in like with much about him.

I first voted when 18 yr olds received the vote, so my history with this process is not all that long. But never have I personally been confronted with a choice that left me questioning so much and trusting so little.

The significance of this particular election must extend far beyond what we immediately comprehend about the process and the people involved in it.

Abraham Lincoln is quoted as saying that:

"Politics is often a choice between the lesser of two evils."

Although I don't think that either of the candidates are "evil" according to civilization standards, the reality is that often times we have to choose the best option that most reflects the character and values of Christ. John the Baptist publically spoke against a leader of his day (and Jesus day) that was in an immoral relationship which eventually got him killed. Further we read in the new testament where it discusses that leaders should not take bribes, have strong familiy relationships, and be of good reputation. The problem isn't that we have bad choices... it's that we don't expect and hold accountable highly moral and ethical people in authority from our city alderman... to the presidency of the US no matter how it effects the economy. This isn't a new behavior.... like I said the element was present in Jesus day. BUT to abstain from voting altogether is to slowly allow our country to elect those who don't care about upholding the morality and character of Christ. So PRAY... and ask the Lord who you should vote for... afterall He looks on the heart.

Another vote for neither. This is the first time in many years that i am not going to vote in the presidential election because both of the candidates are bozos.
